Light
As houseplants, indirect or filtered light is best. Dappled shade if grown outside.
Water
Keep evenly moist, but not saturated. Mist to increase humidity.
Level of Care
Needs a little extra care. Just be sure the plant has enough humidity and that it is not in too much sunlight.
Air Purifying
Lemon Button Ferns remove toxins that can build up in indoor spaces. A general rule of thumb is 1 medium houseplant per 100 square feet of space effectively cleans the air we breathe.
Fertilizer
Feed with a liquid, indoor plant fertilizer about once every 2 weeks during the growing season. Do not fertilize in winter.
Temperature
Prefer warm and humid climates. Keep above 55°F. Grown outdoors, Lemon Button Ferns are hardy in USDA zones 9-12.
Soil
Plant in well-draining organic-rich soil.
Pruning & Propagation
Prune old growth in spring as new growth emerges to enhance shape and fullness. To propagate, split plant and repot.
